A note from the founder

I didn't start YLO (say: ee-lo) because I love hair products. I started it because of a photo.

Somewhere in my early thirties, I started seeing more scalp than I remembered — in the mirror, in photos taken from above. I tried the tricks — powder on the part, the strategic angle, standing on the good-light side in every photo.

But patience doesn't help you at 6 p.m. before a dinner. So we built the thing I couldn't find: fibers matched like foundation, tested in real light, honest about what they do — cover, blend, wash out — and what they don't.

Will it actually look natural?

When the shade is right — yes, that's the entire point of the shade match. The fibers rest among your own strands and take on your hair's texture and direction, so in daylight it reads as your hair, not a coating. Results vary with hair type and how much you apply. Start light. You can always add.

Where does YLO work best?

On the places where hair looks thinner than you'd like: a widening part line, temples, the crown, a receding hairline, the base of a ponytail. Fibers need some of your own hair to blend with — they can't create coverage where there's no hair at all. If that's your situation, The System isn't your tool, and we'd rather tell you that now than after you've paid.

What about rain, wind, and sweat?

A drizzle, a breezy day, a warm commute — fine. The color is part of the fiber, so it doesn't run like a powder or tinted spray. For long days, one mist of the Locking Spray keeps everything in place. Swimming or a full soak? That's what shampoo is for — expect to reapply after.

How do I get it out?
